Application Support Engineer (Windows/Unix)

Location: Hybrid in Porto or Lisbon, with office attendance 2 days per week. Candidates must already be based in Portugal and have Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Support production operations on Windows and Unix environments.
• Coordinate changes, commission applications, and resolve production incidents.
• Develop and maintain scripts using Shell (KSH), Python, and PowerShell.
• Work with Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and MySQL databases.
• Cover staggered schedules from 07:00 to 18:30 and on-call duty, including weekends, for 7 days.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of experience in production operations on Windows and Unix.
• Experience scripting with Shell (KSH), Python, and PowerShell.
• Basic knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and MySQL databases.
• Experience in change coordination, application commissioning, and production incident resolution.
• Fluent English at B2 level.
• Already based in Portugal, with Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Availability for hybrid work in Porto or Lisbon 2 days per week, staggered schedules, and weekend on-call duty.

• Experience with BMC Control-M or another industrial scheduler.
