Senior Delivery Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary agile team, set a sustainable pace, coordinate delivery, and remove blockers.
• Select and adapt agile and lean methods, coach the team, and run health checks to support continuous improvement.
• Guide digital services through discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases, preparing for GDS service assessments and meeting the GDS Service Standard.
• Embed agentic AI into development, testing, and delivery workflows while managing associated risks and governance.
• Plan and forecast delivery, manage risks, issues, dependencies, and costs, and report on financial delivery.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineers and senior civil servants, within government governance and assurance processes.

Requirements

• SC cleared or eligible for SC clearance.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary agile team as its Delivery Manager.
• Experience delivering services through GDS phases and preparing for a service assessment.
• Experience working with civil servants within government governance structures.
• Experience using agentic AI in the software development lifecycle, including managing related risks and governance.

Nice to have

• Experience in a central government department.
• Knowledge of government AI assurance, including the Algorithmic Transparency Recording Standard or AI DPIAs.
• Experience managing budgets and multi-supplier delivery.
• Technical understanding sufficient to discuss data, cloud, and AI options with engineers.
• An agile delivery certification such as Scrum Master or SAFe.
