Operations Director (Data Centre)

What you will do

• Lead operations teams covering technical services, building services, site facilities management, smart hands, and third-party facility management providers.
• Run 24x7 data centre operations, maintenance, repairs, planned and emergency maintenance, and incident response while targeting 100% uptime and customer SLA compliance.
• Coordinate construction integration, commissioning witness testing, operational readiness, system documentation, and adherence to engineering and operational standards.
• Manage change processes, service contracts, vendors, customer installations, smart hands, and service requests.
• Lead compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local environmental, building, fire, electrical, mechanical, and safety regulations.
• Develop CAPEX/OPEX budgets, forecasts, reporting, operational strategies, risk analysis, and efficiency business cases.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a critical operational environment, including at least 2 years in a senior operations role.
• Fluent English and another local language required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ideally electrical engineering.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and building team camaraderie and a positive culture.
• Experience working for a data centre operator, including previous hyperscale experience.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage in robust discussions with technically competent partners and customers.
• Flexible, forward-thinking, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for customers, peers, and management.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework and its application in a data centre.
