Team Leader, Account Linking (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA; Washington, D.C.; New York City, N.Y.; or Remote (USA)

Salary: $150,000–$200,000/year plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Account Linking engineering team and represent its capabilities and constraints to engineering, Product, and Operations partners.
• Set technical direction, guide architectural decisions, and maintain a scalable, maintainable platform.
• Define and improve measures for connection health, financial data completeness, accuracy, and freshness.
• Lead monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Own quarterly roadmap delivery, remove blockers, communicate risks, and balance new capabilities with system health.
• Coach engineers through 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, growth plans, RFCs, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience shipping production systems.
• Engineering experience with some combination of Node, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Postgres or a similar relational database.
• Experience supporting external integrations, large production data sets, and operational excellence on platform teams.
• Experience using observability and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and data quality.
• At least 1 year of experience leading an engineering team and a track record of leading senior individual contributors.
• Empathetic, curious leadership with the judgment to make technical decisions while empowering engineers to own implementation.
• Pragmatic planning, clear communication of risks and tradeoffs, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
