Financial Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $215K–$285K annually, plus equity.

hirify.global provides an AI routing and infrastructure layer for enterprises to access, manage, and optimize large language models across providers.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own the financial platform behind hirify.global's inference gateway, marketplace, and agentic products.
• Support flexible pricing and contract models, including commitments, BYOK pricing, overages, platform fees, and per-seat pricing.
• Automate quote-to-cash workflows, contract provisioning, credit transfers, customer billing, invoicing, payments, refunds, tax/VAT, and collections.
• Build the financial source of truth, including a double-entry ledger, fees, plans, entitlements, accounts payable, provider settlements, and reconciliation.
• Meter, price, and record usage exactly once; reconcile served usage against charged amounts across streaming pipelines and usage records.
• Partner with Provider, Trust & Safety, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams on usage attribution, pricing, fraud prevention, and financial operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years building production financial systems such as billing, payments, ledgers, or revenue infrastructure at a fintech or usage-based SaaS company.
• Deep knowledge of idempotency, double-entry accounting, exactly-once event processing, reconciliation, and safe migrations of financial data.
• Hands-on experience with Stripe or similar payment processors and a billing or invoicing platform, including contract, subscription, and usage-based models.
• Strong TypeScript and SQL skills, with experience using Postgres and analytical stores such as ClickHouse at high event volume.
• Working knowledge of AR/AP, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and month-end close, with the ability to work with Finance using accounting terminology.
• Ability to collaborate across Provider, Trust & Safety, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams and turn complex business requirements into reliable systems.
• High agency, an AI-forward approach, and daily use of coding agents to automate manual finance operations.

Nice to have

• Experience building usage-based, hybrid, or seat-based billing at scale.
• Experience with streaming data pipelines such as Dataflow, Spanner, or Kafka for metering.
• Experience with payment fraud and risk systems such as Stripe Radar.
• Experience with multi-currency, sales tax/VAT, or global payment methods.
• Experience preparing financial systems for an audit.
• Existing hirify.global usage or experience building projects in AI tooling.
