Instructor/Professional Assistant Professor, English

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position beginning Spring 2027.

What you will do

• Teach a 5/5 course load primarily consisting of first-year writing courses.
• Teach upper-division undergraduate courses according to specialization when assigned.
• Deliver courses face-to-face and online as scheduled.
• Participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels.

Requirements

• For Instructor rank: a Master of Arts degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field.
• For Instructor rank: a record of quality teaching in first-year writing.
• For Professional Assistant Professor rank: a terminal degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field.
• For Professional Assistant Professor rank: a record of quality teaching in first-year writing.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching corequisite models for developmental writing and reading.
• Experience teaching and advising first-generation students and historically underserved communities.
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement, academic achievement, and success among students with varied academic backgrounds.
