Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work and Director of the Master of Social Work Program (Social Work)

Location: Killeen, Texas, United States. Full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position with faculty hours Monday–Friday; hours may vary by assignment. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate social work courses, including graduate courses in an online format.
• Lead administration and continuous improvement of the Master of Social Work Program, including assessment, quality improvement, reporting, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate CSWE accreditation activities and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate on curriculum planning, scheduling, program policies, recruitment, retention, and student success.
• Advise and mentor students, develop community agency and field education partnerships, and represent the program professionally.
• Maintain scholarly and/or professional activity appropriate to rank, participate in governance, and contribute to professional and community service.

Requirements

• For Assistant Professor appointment: an earned doctorate in Social Work, DSW, PhD in Social Work, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment.
• MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• At least two years of post-MSW professional social work practice experience.
• A social work license or eligibility for a Texas social work license.
• Demonstrated potential for effective teaching, scholarship, and service.
• For Associate Professor appointment: all Assistant Professor qualifications, plus a record of successful university teaching, scholarly achievement and professional contributions commensurate with the rank, and leadership experience in social work education, program administration, accreditation, or related activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with CSWE accreditation processes and assessment.
• Experience teaching in an MSW program and previous program coordination or administrative leadership experience.
• Online and hybrid teaching experience.
• Grant development, community-engaged scholarship, or interdisciplinary collaboration experience.
• Experience serving diverse, first-generation, military-affiliated, rural, or underserved populations.

Culture & Benefits

• The MSW program begins in fall 2027 and will be offered as an online degree.
• The Director receives one course release per semester to support program leadership responsibilities.
