Assistant Professor of Business Law (Business Law)

Location: Canyon, Texas, United States; instruction is delivered in face-to-face and online formats. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment.

Salary: Commensurate.

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate Business Law and related courses, including Employment Law and Healthcare Law, in face-to-face and online formats.
• Develop and update course materials to support effective instruction and student learning.
• Advise and mentor students on academic and professional development.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in scholarly and professional development activities.
• Serve on College and University committees and support student-success and academic-program initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or another appropriate terminal degree in law or a closely related field.
• Academic or professional background sufficient to teach Business Law and related legal courses at the university level.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both face-to-face and online formats.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
• Commitment to student learning, academic excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment is required.
• H-1B and other work authorization visa sponsorship is not available.
• Male applicants aged 18 through 25 must be registered with the Selective Service System under Texas law.
• Employment is subject to a criminal history investigation and verification of credentials and other required information.

Nice to have

• Previous college or university teaching experience.
• Professional legal experience in business law, employment law, healthcare law, or related areas.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and engaging students.
• Experience developing or teaching online courses.
• Experience with curriculum development, student advising, mentoring, and academic assessment.
• Ability to teach multiple law-related courses across different business disciplines.
