Senior Underwriter (Premier Construction)

Location: Remote United States; must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $94,228–$117,784 USD annually, plus bonus pay.

What you will do

• Review complex, high-risk insurance applications for the Premier Contractor GL program and determine coverage eligibility against established guidelines.
• Gather and verify supplementary data from multiple databases and use specialized software to compare risks and support accurate policy pricing.
• Recommend risk-reduction measures to clients and address market or carrier challenges.
• Ensure underwriting activities comply with industry and governmental regulations.
• Cultivate producer relationships, achieve production goals, and collaborate with underwriting and other teams to finalize applications efficiently.
• Share knowledge, provide market insights, foster collaboration, and mentor underwriting team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–7 years of underwriting or related insurance experience required.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Strong desire to learn, explore new ideas, and seek new knowledge.
• Ability to remain flexible, embrace change, and quickly pivot in response to shifting priorities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty Brokers License, or similar credential.
