Account Executive Officer/Senior Underwriter, National Accounts

Location: Hybrid in Richardson, Texas, with Houston, Texas also listed as a location; regular in-person meetings and travel to agents, brokers, and customers are required.

Annual base salary: $123,400–$203,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for an assigned book of national accounts.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts, including workers’ compensation, general and product liability, and commercial automobile liability.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and internal partners to support sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Market and sell hirify.global products through in-person meetings and travel, retaining accounts within the company’s risk appetite.
• Identify new business opportunities, develop agency sales plans, and partner with the Managing Director on regional and group sales plans.
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial work, sales, product, or finance.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including experience with National Accounts.
• Deep knowledge of loss-sensitive products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Deep financial acumen and strong critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to identify underwriting, marketing, and financial challenges, analyze available information, and make timely decisions aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for difficult situations with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.
• Ability to travel to regular in-person meetings with agents, brokers, and customers.
