Inland Marine Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, with regular remote and in-person broker interactions and approximately 25% car travel within the territory.

Salary: USD $92,000–$119,000 per year.

What you will do

• Grow and support a profitable inland marine underwriting framework as a production underwriter.
• Make consistent underwriting decisions, follow pricing philosophies, and promote ease of doing business.
• Build relationships with brokers and develop strategic plans by broker, territory, and line of business.
• Create training and educational materials for staff and agents and collaborate with Marketing on product materials.
• Attend agency meetings, conferences, and sales meetings to promote products and services.
• Monitor business results, identify trends, recommend growth strategies, support product development, and participate in underwriting quality-control assessments.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of E&S underwriting, commercial property and casualty underwriting, marketing, and/or field experience.
• Proven record of establishing, prioritizing, and achieving business goals; strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Results-oriented, organized, self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and able to work independently from a remote location.
• Ability to maximize technology and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal business software.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• Ability to pass underwriting audits with a score of 80% or better.
