Technical Program Manager - Software Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office in Fort Collins, Colorado; Bloomington, Minnesota; or Spring, Texas, United States.

Base salary: USD 130,500–247,500 annually in Colorado; USD 123,500–285,000 annually in Minnesota and Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Lead complex, cross-functional technical programs from planning through implementation and software release.
• Manage schedules, milestones, deliverables, resources, dependencies, risks, and execution requirements across product, platform, and engineering teams.
• Drive Agile execution across multiple engineering teams, aligning priorities, dependencies, release timelines, and feedback cycles.
• Analyze program and engineering information to adjust delivery plans and allocate resources.
• Communicate status, risks, escalations, and issue analysis to stakeholders and senior leadership while driving resolution of technical roadblocks.
• Establish Agile delivery metrics, improve processes, integrate quality initiatives, and mentor less-experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Typically 6+ years of relevant experience in technical program or project management, including at least 3 years managing complex technical programs with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in software development lifecycle processes, product integration, and software implementation practices.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across matrixed teams.
• Experience engaging with architecture, design, development, and troubleshooting in a software engineering environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, stakeholder management, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts and business requirements into practical execution plans and influence matrixed teams.
• Proficiency with project and program planning tools used to manage and track deliverables and results.
• Mastery of English and proficiency in the applicable local language.
• Ability to apply AI to data analysis, research, and content generation; ability to establish and monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and cumulative flow.
