Senior Engineer - Mechanical (Electrical)

Location: Remote, United States; travel required at 10–15%.

What you will do

• Design electrical power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, grounding, and related building systems.
• Prepare load calculations, service and feeder sizing, voltage-drop analyses, short-circuit and coordination studies, code reviews, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, control diagrams, specifications, and details.
• Plan and execute project deliverables, define dependencies and estimated hours, communicate risks, and coordinate progress with project teams.
• Manage construction administration, including RFIs, electrical submittals, shop drawings, substitutions, field conditions, site visits, punch-list activities, and closeout.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, utility, and specialty disciplines, providing practical solutions and system-tradeoff advice.
• Contribute to standards, calculation tools, best practices, continuing education, mentoring, and technical development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive electrical building-systems design experience, including independent project execution and construction administration.
• Experience developing coordinated construction documents and communicating directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Revit and discipline-specific lighting, power-system analysis, and specification tools.
• Experience across multiple project types and delivery methods.
• Working knowledge of electrical, energy, fire/life-safety, and accessibility codes and standards.
• Experience mentoring technical staff and improving design standards or workflows.
