Senior Electrical Engineer (Design), Facilities

Location: Hybrid, US | NY | New York - 32 Old Slip

Salary: $120,000–$175,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and support electrical system design for new facilities, renovations, expansions, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Develop LV and MV power distribution designs, including service entrances, switchgear, transformers, equipment connections, and electrical rooms.
• Prepare and review drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, schedules, and other construction-ready technical documentation.
• Perform load, equipment sizing, voltage drop, lighting, and photometric analyses.
• Design emergency lighting, standby generation, UPS, and other critical power systems as required.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines; participate in site assessments, design reviews, construction activities, and stakeholder discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong electrical engineering design experience, including LV and MV systems for buildings, facilities, infrastructure, or other complex built environments.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, single-line diagrams, load calculations, equipment selection, and electrical design documentation.
• Experience developing construction-ready drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical deliverables.
• Familiarity with emergency power systems, electrical service upgrades, lighting systems, and facility modernization projects.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, plus experience with AGi32 or comparable lighting design and photometric analysis software.
• Ability to interpret existing-condition documentation, assess site constraints, develop practical solutions, communicate technically, coordinate across disciplines, work independently, manage competing priorities, and take accountability for design quality and completeness.

Nice to have

• Experience in transportation, institutional, commercial, industrial, or other complex facilities.
• Direct rail and transit experience is welcome but not essential.
