TL;DR
Production Supervisor (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Building and scaling repeatable production systems for chip fabs, semiconductor tools, and complete fabs with an accent on capacity planning, documented processes, quality, yield, and cost. Focus on ramping low-volume engineering builds into scalable production, developing technicians and supervisors, and solving electro-mechanical manufacturing challenges alongside engineers.

Location: Onsite in Austin, United States

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup that designs and builds the hardware, software, tools, components, and modular fabs used to manufacture chips.

What you will do

  • Own production output for tools and complete fabs, including schedules, capacity, lead time, cost, and quality.
  • Convert engineering-led, low-volume builds into documented, repeatable processes with work instructions, travelers, test procedures, and build records.
  • Plan and run production ramps by identifying bottlenecks, adding capacity, bringing up equipment and lines, and improving rate, yield, and cost.
  • Lead the transition of new tool designs from prototype to production and provide engineering feedback on manufacturability, testability, and serviceability.
  • Define technician training and career paths, set operating standards and metrics, and hold the team accountable.
  • Hire, lead, mentor, and scale supervisors, technicians, and associates while working approximately 50 hours per week alongside first-shift technicians.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in production operations, manufacturing engineering, or process development for complex hardware.
  • 2+ years leading production teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Hands-on comfort with electro-mechanical systems, including reading drawings and bills of materials and troubleshooting technical problems with engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM field, or equivalent leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, front-end fab operations, or comparable high-complexity equipment such as vacuum systems, robotics, scientific instruments, or aerospace hardware.
  • Experience taking products from prototypes or low-rate builds to scaled production.
  • Experience building a production organization from scratch at an early-stage company.
  • Familiarity with cleanrooms, vacuum systems, and process chemicals.
  • Experience implementing ERP/MRP systems and lightweight quality management systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Early-stage hardware startup with funding, technical advisors, and labs and offices in Austin, Lockhart, and San Francisco.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability insurance; paid parental leave; and a 401(k) plan.
  • Paid time off including holidays and sick time, plus weekly learning and development opportunities.
  • Visa sponsorship is available, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
  • Commuter benefits, including parking and late-night Uber rides from the office, plus meals and stocked office kitchens.
  • Employment is subject to U.S. export-control compliance, and the role is full time with approximately 50 hours per week alongside first-shift technicians.
