Software Engineer 1/2/3 (JavaScript/React/Angular/Java)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States — hybrid. Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph and be a U.S. citizen.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Build scalable solutions for processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and customers to design high-performing solutions and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Implement reusable, modular components supporting multiple applications and mission needs.
• Optimize performance, drive technical innovation, and support long-term system sustainability.
• Mentor developers and influence technical direction across teams.

Requirements

• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph and U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technical discipline.
• 14 years of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with an emphasis on performance optimization.
• Experience across all aspects of full-stack development and the software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience developing with object-oriented languages such as Java and JavaScript.
• Experience designing and developing modular, reusable software components.
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience developing web-based geospatial applications with tools such as Leaflet.
• Technical leadership, team lead, or mentoring experience.
• Proactive technical customer service and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Experience optimizing solutions across multiple applications, teams, or technologies.
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines for consistent delivery.
