Sr. Platform Engineer III (6888)

Location: Hybrid; local to the Washington, D.C. metro area

Salary: $165,000–$285,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and additional incentives.

What you will do

• Design and operate Kubernetes and container platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, container build processes, and infrastructure automation.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security across containerized environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in complex operational environments.
• Participate in Agile planning, execution, and continuous improvement while communicating platform status, risks, and technical decisions to stakeholders.
• Deliver technical solutions and maintain customer trust through engineering judgment and professionalism.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• Certification satisfying DoD 8140 requirements, such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, including at least 3 years designing, building, and maintaining container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling, including examples such as Rancher, Helm, Docker, Cilium, Rook, Ceph, MinIO, S3, or PortWorx.
• Experience deploying, managing, and operating container runtimes, orchestration tooling, and supporting services, including leading or assisting with complex integrated container platform design and implementation.
• Experience ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in enterprise or mission-critical containerized environments.
• Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
