Senior Staff Platform Engineer (Azure)

Location: Remote within the United States; remote work is only possible when the employee is located in the United States. Applications from candidates permanently outside the United States may be refused.

Salary: USD 361,680–671,640 TTC/OTE for Zone 1; other U.S. geographic zones range from USD 262,218–486,939 to USD 331,540–615,670. A separate OTE range of USD 215,000–307,100 is also stated.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Pulumi.
• Architect cloud networking, identity and access control, account/subscription hierarchies, and resource governance across Azure and AWS.
• Define and implement cloud disaster recovery and business continuity strategies meeting enterprise RTO/RPO requirements.
• Drive standards for high availability, security, scalability, cost efficiency, platform reliability, and operational excellence.
• Build internal tooling and automation for cloud adoption and resource provisioning, improving developer experience.
• Lead architecture reviews and cross-functional initiatives while mentoring engineers across platform, SRE, and product teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure roles, including deep expertise in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience designing and supporting production infrastructure for enterprise SaaS applications.
• Proven experience defining and implementing cloud disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity and access management, multi-account/subscription architecture, and policy enforcement.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Pulumi and with CI/CD systems.
• Skills in Bash, Python, or Go scripting/programming.
• Ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives, drive best-practice adoption, mentor engineers, and influence architecture beyond the immediate team.
• Clear, direct communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience working in multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with internal developer platforms, service mesh, or API gateway patterns.
• Knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks and security best practices.
