Sr. Civil Structural Engineer

Location: Hybrid remote/office in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; candidates outside the Raleigh area must be willing to relocate, with relocation assistance possibly available.

What you will do

• Prepare civil and structural calculations, seismic requirements, drawings, and specifications for grading, buildings, foundations, steel structures, overhead conductors, and rigid bus systems.
• Develop conceptual designs for pricing and detailed designs and calculations for project execution.
• Review and approve internal and external engineering packages, including manufacturer technical documentation.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, customer specifications, governing standards, and constructability practices.
• Develop engineering execution plans, communicate design risks to project managers, and support proposal and project execution teams.
• Participate in customer meetings and domestic project site visits, with approximately 20% travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineering License in a U.S. state.
• 8+ years of Civil Structural Engineering experience; experience with High Voltage Gas-Insulated Substations and Air-Insulated Substations projects for utility and industrial customers is preferred within this experience.
• Extensive knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and ASTM standards.
• Experience with discipline-specific software such as Staad Pro, SAP 2000, RISA, L-Pile, SAG-10, PLS-CAD/Lite, or similar tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma.
• Additional years of experience may qualify candidates for a higher level, and candidates with less experience may be considered for a lower level.
