Engineer (Construction Engineering)

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; based in the Chicago office

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually

What you will do

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for varied building types and materials in accordance with applicable codes and industry standards.
• Engage with clients through site visits and meetings to understand project needs and deliver practical construction engineering solutions.
• Prepare and review construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners on fast-paced local and national projects.
• Solve complex construction engineering problems and support project execution from concept through construction.
• Contribute to client relationships, new business opportunities, and the growth of the Construction Engineering practice.

Requirements

• Degree in structural engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• EIT certification required, with active progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Working knowledge of current construction industry methodologies and best practices.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred; internships and co-ops are considered.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, RISA-3D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Master's degree in structural engineering or a related field.
