Senior Software Engineer II, Payments

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office for team members based near the hub

What you will do

• Build payment products from scratch and enhance or integrate existing systems.
• Design and implement resilient, production-grade infrastructure for critical workloads.
• Lead technical initiatives and influence architecture and technical direction within the Payments team.
• Collaborate with product managers, peers, stakeholders, and customers to shape features and payment solutions.
• Mentor engineers and take end-to-end ownership from architecture and coding through deployment and monitoring.
• Diagnose and solve complex production issues while improving systems and workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software systems, including 6+ years of backend experience focused on production-grade systems.
• 1+ years of JavaScript experience.
• Hands-on experience with critical production systems requiring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Familiarity with browser, networking, and security concepts.
• Product, production, and growth mindsets, with a passion for solving technical challenges affecting users and operations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Can-do attitude and ownership mentality.
• Professional-level spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Extensive Node.js experience.
• Experience leading cross-team initiatives.
• Frontend, React, or mobile experience.
• Significant experience with databases or datastores such as MySQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience in previous payments companies or projects.
• Experience building enterprise-grade SaaS products.
