Senior Software Engineer (C) (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design and implement operating-system utilities and components for a performant, stable, secure, maintainable cloud ecosystem.
• Develop solutions for in-house operating systems and platforms supporting cloud data centers and on-premises edge devices.
• Monitor emerging technologies in low-level networking, hardware, kernels, and open source, then adapt solutions to specific platform needs.
• Investigate and test hardware performance to maximize system capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience as a senior software developer working on a large-scale network or security solution.
• In-depth knowledge of networking, network protocols, and network environments.
• Strong proficiency in C within multithreaded environments.
• Experience integrating open-source software and packages.
• Experience implementing new hardware solutions and interpreting programmer guides and specifications.
• Deep knowledge of Linux systems, utilities, customization options, kernel internals, hardware-software interfaces, and system resource management.
• Ability to analyze performance and system internals, from Makefile flags and BIOS configurations to integrated solutions with many moving parts.
• Expertise in designing and building highly scalable services, particularly in SMP environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to learn new material and pioneer technologies introduced and adopted by Cato.
