Engineering Manager - Frontend (UK)

What you will do

• Spend approximately 80% of the role as a hands-on frontend engineer designing, building, and shipping production features.
• Build interfaces for displaying, filtering, visualizing, and interacting with large datasets.
• Work with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript on complex frontend problems involving performance, usability, scale, configuration, and workflows.
• Partner with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers from problem definition through production.
• Contribute to data extraction and filtering, visualization, complex configuration, and emerging AI experiences.
• Spend approximately 20% of the role on people management, coaching engineers across teams, and supporting career development and performance.

Requirements

• Significant professional software-engineering experience with the technical depth expected of a senior engineer.
• Strong recent hands-on frontend engineering experience with production experience in React, TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
• Previous formal people-management experience, ideally managing engineers rather than pursuing a first management opportunity.
• Experience owning coaching, career development, feedback, and performance management.
• Experience building complex product interfaces, ideally in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, analytics, data platforms, or another sophisticated data-heavy product.
• Experience solving frontend problems involving large datasets, visualization, filtering, configuration, performance, or complex workflows.
• Strong product mindset and collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Design.
• Ability and desire to remain deeply hands-on while managing people, with the autonomy expected of a senior individual contributor.
• Fluent English required; French is not required.
