Senior Frontend Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Carlos, California, with 3+ days per week onsite and remote work permitted on the remaining days. All work must be performed in the United States; U.S. Persons only.

Salary: $173,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement React-based features for web applications using real-time and historical aviation data.
• Integrate, process, and visualize live streams and archived datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers on feature design and implementation.
• Contribute to code reviews, frontend architecture, shared libraries, and reusable components.
• Improve frontend reliability and maintainability through testing, documentation, performance work, and established best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building user-facing web applications, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern web standards including HTML and CSS.
• Familiarity with asynchronous frontend patterns and APIs or data streams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• Attention to code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• U.S. Person status and the ability to perform all work in the United States are required due to U.S. export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Passion for aviation and interest in improving air travel efficiency and safety.
• Experience with mapping or geospatial tools such as Mapbox or Cesium.
• Exposure to live data or video streaming concepts.
