Health Safety & Environmental Lead

Location: Lancaster, NY, United States, with required travel and support for the Lancaster and Batavia locations.

Salary: USD 60,000–75,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, standards, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations; maintain permits, records, and reports.
• Lead internal and external audits, address non-conformances, and conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate HSE training, contractor management, safety committee meetings, and continuous safety education.
• Lead emergency response planning and drills, maintain emergency equipment, and manage workplace injury, workers’ compensation, and related confidentiality requirements.
• Monitor environmental aspects, waste handling, HSE supplies, visual safety signage, and monthly safety and sustainability metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and required HSE certifications.
• 5–7 years of experience with health and safety and environmental management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs or teams.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Leadership presence on the plant floor, ability to manage multiple projects, active listening skills, coaching mentality, and ability to constructively challenge.
• Ability to work on site in Lancaster and travel to/support the Batavia location.
