Occupational Safety Senior Analyst (HAZMAT)

Location: Onsite in St. Inigoes, Maryland, United States; up to 10% travel may be required.

Salary: $95,014.40–$105,019.20 per year

What you will do

• Administer occupational safety and health programs supporting government and contract operations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and regulatory compliance reviews.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage HAZMAT programs, Safety Data Sheets, authorized user lists, hazardous waste processes, storage inspections, and spill prevention plans.
• Coordinate industrial hygiene assessments, exposure monitoring, emergency preparedness, spill response, and incident reporting.
• Train personnel on workplace safety, hazard communication, PPE, HAZMAT handling, emergency response, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational safety, industrial safety, environmental compliance, HAZMAT management, or related programs.
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, safety audits, accident and incident investigations, and corrective-action development.
• Experience managing HAZMAT programs, Safety Data Sheets, hazardous waste processes, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication, PPE standards, and environmental compliance practices.
• Experience developing and delivering employee safety training and knowledge of HAZMAT acquisition, storage, handling, packaging, transportation, and disposal.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense, Navy, federal, or other regulated industrial environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and provide technical recommendations with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; equivalent education, certifications, military experience, and directly related experience may be accepted where permitted by contract requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; the clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Nice to have

• Hazardous Waste Coordinator or OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
• Experience with NAVAIR, NAWCAD, or other Department of the Navy organizations.
• Experience with industrial hygiene, exposure monitoring, spill prevention, emergency response, or government logistics, environmental, and compliance management systems.
• Training or certification in respiratory protection, forklift safety, fall protection, laser safety, fire prevention, explosives safety, or incident command systems.
