QA Automation Engineer

Location: Remote; listed location: Irving / Las Colinas, Texas, United States

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Review requirements and identify test conditions, acceptance criteria, and release risks.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, API, mobile, and non-functional test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain reusable automated tests and test frameworks.
• Record defects with reproducible evidence, validate fixes, and communicate test status.
• Work with engineering and product teams to improve test coverage, testability, and release confidence.

Requirements

• Typically 4+ years of experience in a related professional role, with the exact threshold determined by the approved requisition.
• Professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or test automation.
• Practical experience with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress; test design; Java, Python, or JavaScript; API testing; CI/CD; and defect management.
• Knowledge of test planning, test design, execution, and defect lifecycle practices.
• Hands-on experience with role-relevant test tools or frameworks.
• Understanding of web, API, mobile, database, or distributed application behavior as applicable.
• Ability to analyze failures, document evidence, and collaborate with developers on root cause.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Additional hands-on depth in Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress; test design; Java, Python, or JavaScript; API testing; CI/CD; and defect management.
• Experience with cloud services, automation, and modern delivery practices relevant to the project.
• Familiarity with secure development, accessibility, governance, or regulatory requirements.
• Relevant professional certifications or advanced training in the technology area.
