QA Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, or Braga, Portugal; hybrid work with 2 days per week at the office.

What you will do

• Define and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Test APIs and backend services, validate data and integrations, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution while maintaining test documentation and quality reports.
• Support performance, security, and accessibility testing; participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers, product owners, and business teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, techniques, and the software testing lifecycle.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalents.
• Programming or scripting experience, preferably in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or equivalents.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Xray, TestRail, or equivalents.
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation and familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• English B2 or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• ISTQB certification.
