Quality Assurance Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; full-time, permanent hybrid position with 3 days per week in the Vancouver office

Base salary: CA$85K–CA$95K per year

What you will do

• Deliver quality software for the hirify.global SaaS platform through manual and automated testing.
• Design and document full-stack test strategies and test cases across UI, API, database, Android, and iOS layers.
• Prioritize tests, track defects, validate releases, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist with performance, load, and stress testing using tools such as k6, and document response times, throughput, and error rates using Grafana.
• Build and integrate AI tools and agents into Quality Engineering workflows using MCP, APIs, tool calling, and prompt engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical subject matter expert on emerging AI technologies while following security, privacy, and responsible-use practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing automated tests with API and UI test automation frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as C#, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Solid understanding of SaaS platforms, REST APIs, web applications, databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Introductory experience with performance-testing tools such as k6, JMeter, Locust, or Postman performance testing, plus basic understanding of testing endpoints under simulated user load.
• Familiarity with application monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Practical experience using generative AI development tools such as Codex, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot; experience designing prompts and reusable instructions.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, AI-assisted automation, or custom internal AI tools, with familiarity with MCP, API integrations, tool calling, or connecting AI tools to internal systems.
• Ability to critically validate AI-generated code, test cases, and recommendations, with an understanding of security, privacy, access control, and data handling in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM field, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience testing Android and iOS platforms.
• Experience delivering quality products in Agile teams using AWS Device Farm, microservices, Docker, or AWS.
• Experience building internal tools and quality dashboards.
• Experience creating AI agents or workflows for test generation, requirements analysis, defect triage, failure analysis, test-data creation, or release validation.
• Experience developing MCP servers or integrating MCP-compatible tools with engineering platforms.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted workflows for accuracy, consistency, security, latency, cost, and operational value.
• Experience establishing responsible generative AI standards or best practices for engineering teams.
• Experience with BDD and TDD practices.
