What you will do

• Support and advise small and medium-sized business customers on internal IT infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and Windows Server.
• Maintain Linux systems and investigate issues through terminals, logs, connectivity tests, and command-line tools.
• Support networks, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, switching, virtualization, storage, servers, and backup infrastructure.
• Deploy, migrate, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure environments using platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, Sophos, Fortinet, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, and similar technologies.
• Automate repetitive tasks with scripts, troubleshoot production incidents, document environments and changes, and propose reliable technical solutions.

Requirements

• Solid experience with Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server.
• Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, firewalls, switching, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience or strong interest in firewall and network platforms such as Sophos, Fortinet, MikroTik, Huawei, and Unifi/Omada.
• Basic Linux knowledge, confidence using a terminal, ability to read logs and use command-line tools, and ability to troubleshoot beyond graphical interfaces.
• Basic scripting or programming skills with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools, plus an automation mindset.
• Ability to work with different customers and technical environments, troubleshoot methodically, explain technical work, communicate clearly, document reliably, and take responsibility in production environments.
• Professional proficiency in German and English is required.
• Broad IT knowledge, curiosity, and ability to learn, investigate, and move problems forward.
• Comfort using AI coding tools such as Codex or Claude in daily work.

Nice to have

• Certifications in Microsoft, Fortinet, Sophos, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, VMware, Dell, networking, security, Linux, or cloud technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant management, security, conditional access, identity projects, Active Directory design, migrations, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid environments.
• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, hyperconvergence, iSCSI, Ceph, enterprise storage, Linux servers, shell scripting, SSH, logs, and system administration.
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, APIs, internal tools, backup and disaster recovery, endpoint management, security hardening, antivirus/EDR, patching, and monitoring.
• Understanding of IT security best practices for SMEs and experience supporting companies with 20 to 200 users.
• Ability to turn recurring problems into cleaner processes, scripts, automation, or documentation, with a consulting mindset.
• French and/or Luxembourgish are a strong plus.
