Systems Administrator (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

What you will do

• Administer Windows and Linux servers, storage, virtualisation platforms, endpoints, and core corporate IT services.
• Design and operate identity, access, and endpoint management with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Hybrid Active Directory.
• Maintain endpoint security, threat detection, MFA, vulnerability management, physical security systems, and corporate access controls.
• Manage Veeam backup, recovery, disaster recovery, restore testing, infrastructure monitoring, logging, SIEM operations, and incident response.
• Support onboarding and offboarding, collaboration platforms, asset registers, software licensing, vendor coordination, and Jira Service Management escalations.
• Drive infrastructure modernisation, security uplift, documentation, audit readiness, root-cause analysis, and operational improvement while mentoring junior IT staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or Senior System Administrator in a corporate, multi-site, or regional IT environment.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with corporate servers, endpoints, storage, and virtualisation platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox.
• Expertise with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Hybrid Active Directory, and Intune.
• Understanding of corporate network design, WAN connectivity, multi-region operations, high availability, proactive monitoring, and performance optimisation.
• Experience with endpoint security and threat detection, including Cortex XDR, MFA enforcement, and security hardening.
• Practical experience with Veeam backup and disaster recovery, including restore testing and operational readiness.
• Experience with ITSM frameworks and Jira Service Management, plus strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, vendors, and management; vendor coordination experience is an advantage.
