Director, AI Engineering and Solutions (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise AI Engineering & Solutions function and build a high-performing team of AI engineers and architects.
• Set AI engineering standards, architecture patterns, delivery practices, and enterprise technology direction.
• Architect and deliver AI solutions from concept and prototyping through production and lifecycle management.
• Guide decisions across security, scalability, performance, reliability, observability, maintainability, and cost.
• Establish reusable AI platforms, components, integrations, and engineering practices while managing build-versus-buy decisions and platform economics.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritize AI opportunities, validate feasibility, and deliver measurable adoption, performance, cost, and business value.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience across software engineering, solution architecture, data, cloud, or technology delivery, including significant recent AI engineering experience.
• Extensive experience leading engineering or architecture teams, building teams, and developing senior technical talent.
• Experience leading AI teams, setting enterprise AI direction, establishing governance and delivery frameworks, and scaling production AI solutions.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering production AI solutions, including generative AI, LLM-based applications, RAG, AI agents, agentic workflows, and enterprise integrations.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud and AI platforms, including the Microsoft AI ecosystem, with the ability to objectively evaluate alternative technologies.
• Experience establishing reusable AI platforms, engineering standards, architecture patterns, integration approaches, and lifecycle practices at enterprise scale.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, APIs, data platforms, security, observability, model evaluation, cost management, and production operations.
• Ability to partner with business and technology leaders, assess technical and commercial trade-offs, and translate AI opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
