Team Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, manage, hire, onboard, and develop a team of software engineers through 1:1s, goal-setting, feedback, performance management, and career growth.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI agents, including planning, prioritization, shipping, quality, technical debt, and stakeholder communication.
• Design, build, and scale production AI systems involving conversational reasoning, agent orchestration, retrieval, tool calling, and automation workflows.
• Guide backend services and data pipelines integrating Amadeus, Sabre, internal systems, and third-party APIs for real-time decision-making.
• Drive architecture decisions for distributed, high-performance AI applications and improve model performance, reliability, observability, and evaluation.
• Define engineering practices covering code review, testing, planning, and responsible use of AI coding tools.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience developing or integrating products using LLMs.
• At least 3 years of direct experience as a Team Lead managing software engineers, including 1:1s, performance, hiring, and career development.
• At least 6 years of experience building production software systems, with strong experience designing and developing scalable systems.
• Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, or orchestration frameworks.
• Experience using modern AI coding tools in daily engineering workflows and helping teams adopt them while maintaining code quality and technical ownership.
• Solid understanding of Linux runtime environments and experience identifying and solving performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment by prioritizing, unblocking, and maintaining team focus.
• Excellent written and spoken English, strong communication and interpersonal skills, high ownership, accountability, curiosity, proactivity, humility, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Production experience with agentic AI systems; knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and AI evaluation or monitoring frameworks.
• Travel-tech or GDS integration experience.
• Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD experience.
• Experience scaling a team in a fast-growing startup, plus open-source contributions, side projects, or technical writing.
• Startup mindset and comfort operating with ambiguity.
