Senior Project Manager (Gas Infrastructure)

Location: Based at Wormington Compressor Station in Gloucestershire after a brief preconstruction phase; on-site during the week with travel required to Warrington, Woking, Warwick, and other National Gas offices as necessary.

What you will do

• Lead safe delivery of a 15MW gas turbine compressor site across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and entry into service.
• Manage programme, critical-path activities, site coordination, commissioning constraints, project controls, reporting, and governance.
• Coordinate direct labour, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and the Project Leadership Team to meet contract, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Manage client, stakeholder, landowner, statutory-party, site-operations, and supply-chain relationships as the primary site-level interface.
• Lead risk and opportunity management, change control, variation processes, value engineering, and commercial performance.
• Chair project meetings, workshops, briefings, and reviews while driving safety, environmental protection, quality, assurance, and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale EPC projects.
• Relevant experience in UK high-pressure gas infrastructure is preferred; transferable experience in heavy engineering, piping, or process-led projects in regulated, safety-critical environments is also considered.
• Appropriate academic and professional qualifications with evidence of continued professional development.
• Commercial contract, cost, and programming awareness, including experience with NEC or similar contracts.
• Senior professional competence in a main-contractor EPC environment with responsibility for site health and safety; SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven delivery of projects from start to finish and experience working with Tier-1 engineering and construction contractors in the UK on high-value projects.
• Experience with National Grid, other gas networks, or industrial process asset operators such as BP, Exxon Mobil, INEOS, Valero Energy, Essar Energy, or Phillips 66.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint or document-control software, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel between sites and work at Wormington Compressor Station in Gloucestershire during the week.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Fluent English required.
