Data Analyst 3 - Insights Delivery Merchandising Analytics (SQL/BigQuery)

Location: Seattle, WA, US. Conditions: 1600 7th Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98101.

Annual pay range: $102,500–$170,500. Performance-based incentives may apply.

hirify.global is a retail organization whose merchandising analytics team delivers data products and reporting used for merchandising and planning decisions.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, analytical datasets, and reporting solutions using SQL, BigQuery, Looker, and LookML.
• Build Looker Explores, semantic models, dashboards, and self-service analytics for merchandising, planning, finance, inventory, markdown, sales, and holiday reporting.
• Gather requirements, define business metrics, and translate analytical needs into reliable technical solutions with business and technology stakeholders.
• Modernize reporting by migrating legacy Tableau solutions to Looker and aligning planning reports with new systems, metrics, and methodologies.
• Maintain Airflow and DBT transformation and orchestration workflows; test, reconcile, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize data products.
• Support production reporting, investigate data discrepancies, participate in code reviews, and use AI tools to accelerate analysis and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or a related technical field.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, aggregations, and query performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with scheduling and orchestration using Apache Airflow and/or DBT.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Google BigQuery, and with BI platforms such as Looker/LookML, Tableau, or comparable tools.
• Experience building analytical data models, reusable reporting datasets, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control, code reviews, collaborative development, data investigation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical requirements, communicate complex data concepts, manage multiple deliverables, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, willingness to support production workflows, and experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, development, and review.

Nice to have

• Hands-on LookML experience with models, Explores, dimensions, measures, and dashboards.
• Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery experience, plus experience migrating BI platforms or modernizing legacy analytics infrastructure.
• Retail, merchandising, supply chain, inventory management, or financial planning analytics experience.
• Understanding of sales, demand, inventory, gross margin, markdown, and product performance metrics.
• Experience supporting business-critical reporting, resolving production data issues, working in Agile environments, and collaborating across business and engineering teams.
