Senior Data Analyst, People (SaaS)

Location: Flexible hybrid position based out of the Oakland, California or New York City, New York office; regular in-person collaboration is encouraged.

Salary: $156,082–$195,102.50 USD annually.

What you will do

• Define and maintain core People metrics covering headcount, hiring, retention, organizational health, employee experience, and talent development.
• Build canonical datasets, analytical models, self-service tools, and dashboards for People teams and business leaders.
• Translate complex analyses into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for operational and executive audiences.
• Partner with Engineers to improve HRIS and ATS data connectors.
• Establish practices for data quality, integrity, governance, privacy, access control, and responsible use of sensitive employee data.
• Mentor analysts and partners while strengthening analytical best practices and data fluency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling skills with experience working across large, complex datasets.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, Sigma, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, data quality standards, and reproducibility.
• Excellent communication and data storytelling skills, including the ability to explain complex findings and recommendations.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, operate in ambiguity, and own analytical problems end-to-end.

Nice to have

• Experience in People Analytics, workforce analytics, recruiting analytics, HR strategy, or a related People function.
• Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, performance management, engagement, or learning systems.
• Experience supporting business decisions at a high-growth, SaaS, or B2B product company.
