Sr. Manager, Global Supply Chain Logistics

Location: Hybrid role based in Boston, Massachusetts, US; attendance policies apply.

Salary: $143,500–$179,300 per year, with a discretionary annual bonus potentially available.

What you will do

• Define and execute the global logistics strategy for patient samples and materials across domestic and international networks.
• Lead lane, carrier, courier, and 3PL strategies, including service levels, escalation paths, exception management, RFPs, renewals, and pricing improvements.
• Optimize routes, networks, packaging, and carrier coverage to improve delivery performance, resilience, and cost.
• Manage real-time shipment visibility, delayed-shipment recovery, KPI cadences, and performance metrics including on-time delivery, transit time, cost, exceptions, claims, and delivery success.
• Maintain GDP-aligned transportation controls, specimen integrity, traceability, SOP governance, audit readiness, and regulated-material shipping compliance.
• Lead and develop logistics team members while partnering with Laboratory Operations, Client Services, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in global logistics or supply chain, including 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience managing international and domestic transportation networks and the performance of carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs.
• Working knowledge of GDP/GxP principles and documentation controls for regulated distribution and audit readiness.
• Strong analytical and continuous-improvement skills, with demonstrated use of KPIs to improve delivery, transit time, exception rates, and cost.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence across functions and levels.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations.
• Experience shipping biological substances or diagnostic specimens, including UN3373 and IATA DGR-aligned practices.
• Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, pharma, biotech, or clinical logistics.
• Experience with import/export processes, customs broker management, and global trade compliance.
• Experience leading logistics transformations, network optimization, carrier RFPs, or systems implementations.
• Strong understanding of global logistics regulations and awareness of HIPAA, patient safety, and data privacy requirements.
