Director, Integrated Supply Chain (Biotech)

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; hybrid schedule with onsite presence required four days per week. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $166,000–$208,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute integrated procurement strategies covering direct and indirect spend, sourcing, category management, supplier selection, contracts, and supplier consolidation.
• Lead and develop global procurement and logistics teams across multiple locations.
• Oversee courier, freight, transportation, shipment visibility, cold-chain logistics, and time-sensitive material movement.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Quality, Facilities, R&D, Commercial, and site leaders on budgets, savings, materials availability, and operational support.
• Establish supplier governance, performance reporting, risk mitigation, business continuity, and compliance processes.
• Drive ERP, analytics, Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives while presenting strategic updates to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, finance, life sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or operations experience, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, laboratory services, manufacturing, or another regulated environment.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, talent development, and leading managers or geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience with procurement strategy, global sourcing, complex supplier negotiations, cost savings, supplier risk management, logistics, inventory, and materials planning.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, sourcing, spend analytics, or planning systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, executive presentation, negotiation, change management, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, CPM, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, procurement transformation, courier management, or time-sensitive laboratory and healthcare logistics.
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
