Director, Integrated Supply Chain (Life Sciences)

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; hybrid schedule with onsite presence required four days per week currently. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $166,000–$208,000 base compensation per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute integrated procurement strategies covering cost savings, supply continuity, quality, compliance, and scalable operations.
• Lead strategic sourcing, category management, supplier selection, contract negotiation, supplier consolidation, and supplier governance across direct and indirect spend.
• Build, coach, and develop global procurement and logistics teams across multiple locations.
• Oversee materials availability, inventory management, SIOP implementation support, inbound and outbound logistics, courier services, freight, shipment visibility, and temperature-sensitive shipments where applicable.
• Establish operating standards, workflows, reporting, KPIs, risk mitigation, business continuity, and continuous improvement processes across sites.
• Partner with Finance, Quality, Operations, Facilities, R&D, Commercial, and senior leadership on budgets, savings, compliance, operational performance, and workforce planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or operations, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, laboratory services, manufacturing, or another regulated environment.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and leading managers or geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience developing procurement strategies, leading global sourcing initiatives, negotiating complex supplier agreements, and delivering measurable cost savings.
• Strong knowledge of direct and indirect procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, contract management, materials planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, courier/vendor management, and operational support.
• Experience partnering with Finance, Quality, Operations, Facilities, R&D, Commercial, and senior leadership to align procurement priorities with business outcomes.
• Knowledge of supplier risk management, business continuity planning, quality expectations, regulatory considerations, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, sourcing, spend analytics, or planning systems.
• Excellent communication, executive presentation, negotiation, change management, stakeholder management, prioritization, and strategic execution skills.
• Ability to build team capability, set expectations, create accountability, develop future leaders, and foster an inclusive, collaborative, performance-driven culture.

• NetSuite experience.
• Experience managing logistics, courier, freight, transportation, or time-sensitive material movement for laboratory, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, or customer-facing operations.
• Experience leading Lean, Kaizen, process improvement, or procurement transformation initiatives.
• Professional certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, CPM, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP.
