Director, Distribution & Transportation (Supply Chain)

Location: Hybrid position within driving distance of Deerfield, Illinois, with work from home on Mondays and Fridays; travel up to 30% required.

Base salary: $140,000–$220,000 USD annually, plus an annual bonus plan or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Establish and execute distribution, transportation, and network strategy for the Security and Outdoors businesses.
• Lead a multi-site distribution network and oversee safe, efficient, cost-effective facility operations.
• Own carrier selection, contract negotiations, rate management, transportation performance, and third-party logistics relationships.
• Improve service levels, cost efficiency, scalability, inventory flow, warehouse productivity, and on-time, in-full, damage-free delivery.
• Partner with Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Procurement, and Supply Chain leadership on cross-functional initiatives.
• Lead planning, budgeting, forecasting, executive reporting, compliance, technology evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience across transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading a multi-site distribution network.
• Experience managing carrier relationships, including negotiations and performance management.
• Track record of leading teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving cross-functional initiatives.
• Accountability for on-time, in-full, and damage-free delivery metrics.
• Ability to work within driving distance of Deerfield, Illinois and travel up to 30%.
