Developer Support Engineer I

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; remote workplace type, with at least 3 days per week expected in the office

Salary: $88,000–$132,000 per year for roles based in Pittsburgh, PA; annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Support engineers with builds and CI, source control, cloud access, authentication, virtual development environments, and AI coding tools.
• Triage support requests, resolve issues, and hand off deeper fixes clearly to owning teams.
• Grant and manage access through infrastructure-as-code and peer-reviewed changes.
• Identify request patterns, raise emerging incidents, and communicate them to affected engineers.
• Build scripts, command-line tools, documentation, and AI-powered automation to reduce repeat requests and manual work.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in technical support, IT or systems administration, DevOps, SRE, or a related role; internships and co-ops count.
• Working proficiency with Linux.
• Experience with Git and GitHub workflows, including branches, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts.
• Experience writing Python or Bash scripts to automate tasks.
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues by reading logs, reproducing problems, and isolating root causes.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting engineers as internal customers, or working with developer tools, build systems, or a large monorepo.
• Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or Jenkins, or build systems such as Bazel.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, especially Terraform; cloud IAM such as AWS; SSO and identity providers; or Go.
• Experience writing documentation or runbooks, building self-service tools, or using AI coding assistants.
