IT Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid at the San Francisco office, United States

Salary: $150K–$180K annually plus equity; USD salary ranges apply only to U.S.-based positions, while international salaries are set according to the local market.

What you will do

• Build foundational AI automations, custom skills, and workflows with Perplexity's Computer.
• Instrument and tune the agentic IT ticketing system by identifying trends, tracking KPIs, and engineering agent behavior.
• Provide day-to-day IT support in person and remotely across hardware, accounts, and SaaS applications.
• Build and promote company-wide self-service tools.
• Contribute to endpoint management, identity and access management, and IT backend projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IT help desk and systems administration, ideally in a fast-growing startup.
• Experience with macOS and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Okta; experience with Okta Workflows is preferred.
• Experience using AI coding tools and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Methodical root-cause troubleshooting skills and a strong interest in automating repetitive tasks.
• Clear, friendly communication and enjoyment of helping people.
• The role is intended for an early-career engineer who learns and grows quickly.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with mobile device management tools such as Iru or Intune.
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup.
