Director, Strategic Programs

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY, with Washington, DC listed as another location; 0–10% domestic travel

Salary: USD 135,000–143,000 per year

What you will do

• Establish and lead a scalable program management framework for People, Culture & Equity, including methodologies, governance, tools, templates, and standards.
• Translate strategic priorities and the annual roadmap into integrated implementation plans with outcomes, milestones, ownership, dependencies, timelines, decision points, and success measures.
• Lead complex, high-priority cross-functional programs and facilitate project teams, governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder discussions.
• Lead change management through stakeholder and impact assessments, readiness planning, adoption planning, implementation sequencing, and reinforcement.
• Manage risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and implementation barriers while escalating priority, capacity, and sequencing decisions when needed.
• Provide portfolio-level reporting and build program and change management capability across People, Culture & Equity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, project management, change management, organizational effectiveness, business operations, or a related field, including complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Expertise in program and project management methodologies, including planning, governance, dependency management, risk management, resource planning, implementation, and measurement.
• Experience applying change management practices, including stakeholder assessment, change impact analysis, readiness, adoption, and reinforcement.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into executable plans with defined outcomes, milestones, ownership, dependencies, timelines, and success measures.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, facilitation, stakeholder-management, and influencing skills, including the ability to drive accountability without direct reporting authority.
• Ability to synthesize complex information and provide concise, decision-useful reporting on progress, risks, dependencies, organizational readiness, and required decisions.
• Experience developing scalable program management tools, processes, governance structures, and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across executive leaders, functional experts, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives while maintaining attention to detail, accountability, discretion, adaptability, and sound judgment with sensitive information.
