Director, IT Project Management Office

Location: Full-time onsite work five days per week in Victor, NY, United States; not eligible for relocation assistance.

Starting base pay: $154,903–$238,312 per year, with possible additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the centralized IT Program and Project Management organization supporting commercial, finance, HR, operations, ERP, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and other enterprise technology initiatives.
• Own and continuously improve project and program governance, methodologies, standards, controls, templates, and delivery expectations.
• Oversee execution across the IT portfolio, including delivery health, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, escalations, and recovery actions.
• Establish consistent financial management, resource capacity planning, risk and issue management, benefits tracking, and executive reporting practices.
• Partner with Portfolio Management, IT Finance, Business Relationship Management, technology leaders, and business stakeholders on prioritization, investment governance, and decision-making.
• Coach and develop Program Managers and Project Managers while building accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and measurable delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, program management, PMO, technology delivery, or related disciplines, including the stated project and program management experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing Project Managers, Program Managers, or comparable delivery professionals.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional technology programs in a large or matrixed organization.
• Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies, governance, financial management, resource planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Ability to establish standards while adapting delivery approaches to different project types and business needs.
• Experience working with senior business and technology executives.
• Strong leadership, influencing, communication, and organizational change capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Must be authorized to work permanently and continuously in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing, leading, or transforming a PMO or Project Management Center of Excellence.
• Experience with Planview or comparable enterprise portfolio and project management platforms.
• Experience with predictive, Agile, hybrid, and product-oriented delivery approaches.
• PMP, PgMP, Agile, or other relevant professional certifications.
• Experience in complex global or multi-business-unit organizations.
