R&D Project Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States; flexible workplace policy with a required minimum number of onsite days. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available. Puerto Rico is excluded from the stated U.S. benefits coverage.

Salary: $128,000–$176,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead lifecycle management and line extension programs for the Advanced Surgery division from identification and prioritization through development, implementation, and launch.
• Account for core team performance, program schedules, execution, budgets, and spend.
• Define program strategies, goals, scope, milestones, and launch commitments with cross-functional teams.
• Identify, communicate, and proactively manage project risks and response plans.
• Coordinate communication across functions, management levels, and stakeholders while resolving conflicts.
• Drive continuous improvement and successful launches with strong focus on quality, compliance, and customer impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience leading complex, multi-site initiatives.
• Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing.
• Ability to lead through influence, drive execution, and deliver results across diverse teams.
• Strong business acumen, financial management, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Success managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• PMP, PMI, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification.
