Project Manager R&D (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Chelmsford, MA; applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance. Relocation is not offered.

Annual salary: $116,600–$130,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead assigned product development programs through new product development, product line extensions, and sustaining engineering releases.
• Coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver projects within defined objectives, timelines, and funding parameters.
• Balance electrical, mechanical, and software development issues at the system level.
• Develop project work plans and schedules, manage product requirements and traceability, and prepare project documentation.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, problem solving, mitigation planning, and resolution activities.
• Manage technical partners and vendors and facilitate project meetings and management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as an engineer developing products required, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Engineering background sufficient to manage and contribute to new product development.
• Knowledge of global standards and regulations for medical device Design Controls, Risk Management, and Electrical Safety.
• Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity within specified guidelines, timeframes, and budgets.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices at the system level.
• Experience working within a phase-gate development process.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
