Project Manager R&D (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid; applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Chelmsford, MA. Relocation is not offered.

Annual salary: $116,600–$130,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead assigned new product development, product line extension, and sustaining engineering programs according to established processes.
• Coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives within schedules and funding parameters.
• Balance electrical, mechanical, and software development issues at the system level.
• Develop work plans and schedules; manage product requirements, traceability, documentation, and project meetings.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, problem-solving, mitigation, and resolution activities.
• Manage technical partners and vendors and prepare management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering preferred; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as an engineer developing products required, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Knowledge of global standards and regulations for medical device Design Controls, Risk Management, and Electrical Safety.
• Experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity within defined guidelines, timeframes, and budgets.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices at the system level.
• Experience working within a phase-gate development process.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.

Nice to have

• PMP certification preferred.
