Manufacturing Engineer

Location: On-site five days per week in Pontiac, Illinois, United States; 25% domestic and international travel. Domestic relocation is available.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and support manufacturing systems, assembly processes, machines, controls, and related equipment.
• Develop and manage manufacturing and assembly projects, capital forecasts, budgets, procurement, installation, and equipment capability.
• Administer assembly NPI activities, including engineering drawing release and the transition from NPI builds to full production.
• Create and implement APQP and safety FMEA for new equipment and processes.
• Resolve ergonomic, safety, efficiency, bottleneck, process-control, and quality issues with internal and external suppliers.
• Integrate automation, factory control software, scheduling, simulation, end-of-line testing, and advanced metrology solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial technology, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering methods, manufacturing processes, and the ability to plan, manage, monitor, and improve the full manufacturing process.
• Working knowledge of project management strategies, including planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling technical projects.
• Working knowledge of decision-making and critical-thinking tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, soft and hard machining, and CAD software.
• Prior project management experience.
• Experience with automation systems, including PLCs and robots used in assembly and deburring, is required for top-candidate consideration.
• Previous CNC machine-tool process experience, grinding and honing processes, diesel and fuel systems, supplier collaboration and management, APQP, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing concepts are sought.
