Engineering Group Manager – General Assembly Execution (Manufacturing Engineering)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; onsite with full-time reporting to a specific location.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers through guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Plan and execute engineering projects from initial design and development through assembly-site installation, startup, and production launch.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and forecasts while monitoring progress and mitigating risks.
• Resolve project roadblocks and ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory requirements, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, supply chain, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful product launches.
• Drive continuous improvement and stay current with manufacturing engineering trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven successful project delivery experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile and Six Sigma.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Must be able to work onsite full-time in Warren, Michigan; no relocation benefits are provided, and relocation costs are the candidate’s responsibility.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with robotics and automation.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
