Senior Product Manager (Healthcare IT)

Location: Hybrid role based in Chicago, Redwood City, or New York City, United States; travel up to 15%

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 annually for Chicago

What you will do

• Drive product strategy and roadmaps for areas within the diagnostic product portfolio.
• Develop and implement integrations between Ambry software applications and healthcare-system EMRs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software products.
• Identify technical issues, product opportunities, market trends, reimbursement implications, and process improvements.
• Create product definitions, market segmentation, voice-of-customer inputs, product requirements, market analyses, and business cases.
• Develop policies and procedures supporting secure access, industry standards, regulatory compliance, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Genomics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT and software development, ideally involving SaaS or cloud-native applications.
• 6+ years of experience in product management or a similar role within healthcare IT, life sciences, or diagnostics; this experience includes the healthcare IT and software-development background above.
• Hands-on experience developing solutions that interface programmatically with one or more EMRs or EHRs.
• Knowledge of FHIR, SMART on FHIR, client- and server-side JSON/XML, and HL7.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITECH.
• Experience managing software development projects and teams, phase-gated product development, and SDLC design-control practices.
• Experience with Scaled Agile or scrum-based development and tools such as JIRA for documenting user needs and design inputs.
• Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-management, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, and business skills, with the ability to work independently, influence others, and manage multiple priorities.

• Previous supervisory or people-management experience.
• Experience marketing or selling to oncologists or healthcare providers.
