Software Engineer (Java)

Location: US-Remote; requires a dedicated, secure work area and high-speed internet connectivity.

Base compensation: $91,000–$118,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, and enhance maintainable software modules and customized applications for hirify.global products.
• Analyze requirements, create implementation designs, and ensure solutions follow engineering standards and best practices.
• Conduct unit and integration testing and execute the software development lifecycle.
• Support analytics systems and client-facing solutions, resolving internal and external production issues and improving performance and availability.
• Collaborate with clients, senior developers, enterprise technology teams, offshore developers, business owners, project management, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor developers and technicians, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement and team performance.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years with Java.
• 3+ years of experience with databases and SQL development using Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and/or PostgreSQL.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting production issues in enterprise Java applications backed by relational databases.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.
• Frontend development experience with Angular, React, and/or Vue.
• 2+ years of healthcare data experience.
• Experience optimizing and tuning SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers; resolving issues in production and client-facing environments; and working with large datasets.
• Ability to analyze requirements, design solutions, apply advanced object-oriented analysis and design, and work independently while solving problems critically.
• Code versioning and repository experience is required; experience with Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins is a plus. Knowledge of one or more enterprise scheduling tools is required.
